Bathing in the sea or strolling along the beaches, going to the acclaimed fiestas, driving along A Mariña, visiting the different parts of the province or strolling around the pazo, etc. In short, a wide range of options combining sea and mountains.

Fiestas

A Rapa das Bestas, held on the first Sunday of July in the hills of El Buyo, is probably the most internationally recognised fiesta. It is a typical and very ancient event where the wild horses that are reared in the mountains are gathered together to have their tails and manes sheared and some of them are also broken-in.

Another fiesta, which although not as famous as the first is nevertheless very spectacular, is the celebration of Ester Week in Viveiro. You can find more information on this event in www.semanasantaviveiro.com

Yet another of the big fiestas held in Vivero is the Romería de Naseiro (a procession to the holy shrine of Naseiro). It is held in El Souto da Retorta, in Chavín, around the last Sunday of August and it lasts five days, from Friday to the following Tuesday.
